It's National Kitten Day - and we've got quite possibly the cutest display window to walk by in downtown Monticello...
It's a full one today!!! Don't miss all the great fruits, veggies, handmade items, baked goods, plant and goodies!!!!
Strong downtowns aren't built by one business—they're built by neighbors who support one another.
When downtown businesses collaborate, everyone benefits. A restaurant recommends a local boutique. A coffee shop shares information about a nearby service. Businesses cross-promote events, celebrate each other's successes, and welcome new faces to the district.
That kind of teamwork creates a better experience for customers, encourages people to stay longer, and strengthens our local economy. Every referral, shared post, and friendly recommendation helps make downtown a place where businesses—and our community—can thrive.
Supporting each other isn't competition—it's one of the biggest reasons downtowns succeed.
(Also, shout-out to KayBee Community Cafe on 1 year in downtown!!)
Love Downtown Monticello? Here's your chance to show it!
We're working on something HUGE that's been waiting for years to happen, but we need your help! The City is pursuing a grant to support proposed improvements to the north side of the 200 block of W. Washington that would make 10 storefronts and the sidewalk more accessible? That's right... TEN! 🤯 It will be our biggest project in a LONG time...
(In other words... it will be improved like the remainder of the square... projects that started over 20 years ago!)
If you support a more welcoming, walkable, and accessible downtown, sign the petition and help show your support!
Want to learn more about the project? Visit the City of Monticello's website for all the details.
Together, we can help make downtown even better—for everyone. 💙
