Monticello Main Street is a community-driven non-profit, fueled and funded by people just like you! Your monetary gift will directly support the preservation and revitalization efforts of historic, downtown Monticello. These are just a few of the ways your donation will be used:
- Business Improvement Grant Support - Our community granting program that has been so successful has been overhauled and is bigger and better than ever! Main Street offers architectural and design assistance to those taking advantage of the program.
- Special Events - Entertainment and ongoing programs in our downtown.
- Downtown Enhancement - We are constantly looking for ways to make our Downtown more attractive! Holiday Decor, Lighting, Flowers, and Parklets (outdoor dining areas) all have come out of this thought process!
- Public Art - Finding and funding the perfect design projects that bring our downtown to life through artistry and imagination, and represent the heart and soul of Monticello.
- Small Business Boot Camp - An annual FREE program designed to cultivate our small-business community, culminating in a "final pitch competition" where participants can compete for a $5K match start-up grant or $2K Marketing Grant. Main Street, in conjunction with the City of Monticello and the Monticello Area Chamber, works to keep the content fresh, applicable, and beneficial!
- Farmers' Market - Seasonal Market signage, regional advertising; programs that invite more vendor and public participation.
- General Fund - Advertising and marketing; grant-writing and fundraising support; business development training to support small business owners
- Advocacy- Constant discussion with the City of Monticello and the Monticello Area Chamber allows us all to provide the best business environment possible! Access to our State and National Main Street programs allows us to advocate for the downtown district on a wider level
- Walkability - It's critically important that our downtown is enjoyable and accessible to all our residents. We keep an eye on ways to improve the enjoyment of our downtown constantly!
