A Refreshing Way to Enjoy Historic Downtown Monticello
The Whites of Spring celebrates the arrival of Spring to downtown Monticello. Sample white wines as you walk, sip and shop participating merchants and restaurants. Newly added will be a few appetizer locations! This event is on Saturday, May 6 from 4-8:00 pm around historic, downtown Monticello. Wine sampling is reserved for ticketed guests, but all are invited to enjoy extended shopping hours.
The map and wine glass pickup location will be in CIBM Bank at 204 S Market St. Monticello IL 61856 starting at 4 PM.

For a little added fun, we encourage everyone to wear their best Derby-inspired hats for a bit of fun that day! Meet the Executive Director of Monticello Main Street!
Shelly is a proud Monticello native who knows downtown from just about every angle. She grew up here, owned a downtown business for many years, and now spends her days helping our downtown district thrive.
Since stepping into the Executive Director role in 2020, she's been the person behind countless events, projects, meetings, grant applications, community partnerships, and probably a few last-minute miracles involving solving power supply issues for musicians.
Fun fact: Shelly is the 8th Executive Director in Monticello Main Street's 30-year history. That's a lot of big shoes to fill—but thankfully, she's got comfortable ones.
It started because Monticello wanted downtown to thrive...
30 years later, we think we're doing a pretty good job... 😉
