Farmer's Market 2016 Poster Contest

Monticello Main Street and the Monticello Area Arts Council are hosting a poster contest to advertise the 2016 Farmer's Market. Artists of all ages residing in Piatt County are encouraged to share their artistic talents. The winning poster will be used to promote the market in print, on the MMS website and through social media. The artist will receive a cash reward of $100 and will have their poster submitted to the National Farmer's Market Coalition! Artwork can be submitted from May 1 through May 20. The winner will be announced on May 27.We are asking for two submissions from each artist as two posters will be printed. A large 18”x24” poster will be printed with only the name of the market and graphic. Smaller advertising posters sized 11”x17” will also be printed containing more detailed information including dates, location, and sponsors. The same graphic must be used on each poster, however, a different layout or orientation may be used for each one.

- Thursdays from 3pm to 6pm
- June 16 through October 6, 2016
- Space for up to four logos, preferably at the bottom of the poster
Submission Requirements
Participants are required to submit a digital version of their original work for the contest. No hard copies will be accepted. All submissions will need to meet the following requirements:

Meet the Executive Director of Monticello Main Street!
Shelly is a proud Monticello native who knows downtown from just about every angle. She grew up here, owned a downtown business for many years, and now spends her days helping our downtown district thrive.
Since stepping into the Executive Director role in 2020, she's been the person behind countless events, projects, meetings, grant applications, community partnerships, and probably a few last-minute miracles involving solving power supply issues for musicians.
Fun fact: Shelly is the 8th Executive Director in Monticello Main Street's 30-year history. That's a lot of big shoes to fill—but thankfully, she's got comfortable ones.
It started because Monticello wanted downtown to thrive...
30 years later, we think we're doing a pretty good job... 😉
