Monticellobration 2016

The 17th annual Monticellobration will take place on Saturday, September 17th around Historic Courthouse Square in downtown Monticello.
RAIN OR SHINE, THE SHOW WILL GO ON!
Don't let the forecast of possible wet weather dampen your spirits. Monticellobration will take place this weekend come rain or shine!
This family favorite fun event kicks off at 10:00am and celebrates all things Monticello. Bring the family and friends downtown to enjoy restaurant cookouts, listening (and dancing if you feel like it) to live swing and jazz music featuring Jim Markum Swing band from 10am - 1pm and the Chicago area band the Night Hawks from 1pm - 4pm. Of course, our restaurants will be cooking out during the lunch hour so you can enjoy local dining while visiting over 50 vendors situated around the square. Check them out from 10am - 4pm.
Kids can Paint the Town through the Monticello Area Arts Council or enjoy lots of activities in Kids Korner-Joyful Bubbles, the Train Pump cars, and more! They can also release their inner artist as they paint a square on Washington Street.
Once again, Sundowners will be hosting an All Things Wheels car show.If you love cars, then you will enjoy checking out these classic cars being showcased on Independence Street right off the square.
We are still celebrating the golden era of the railroad, specifically the 1920’s & 30’s. Be sure to take the train from Wabash Station to the Railway Museum, where they will be celebrating Railroad Days on Saturday and Sunday. You just might see a flapper or two walking down the street. If you can’t catch the train, there will be a free shuttle provided by the Monticello Chamber of Commerce from 9:30 am until 5pm to ferry people from location to location.
Monticellobration daytime fun goes from 10am - 4pm. The evening bands start at 6:30pm featuring hometown favorite Bad Medicine from 6:30pm - 8:30 pm and then the regional favorite, Feudin Hillbillies from 8:30pm - 10:30pm.
If you are interested in being a vendor, download the Vendor Application. Vendor spaces are handled on a first come first serve basis.
