| 24 Friday | Reds of Christmas 2023 - Sold Out!5:00pm - 8:00pm CST Historic Courthouse Square in Downtown Monticello, Monticello, IL, 61856  This event is sold out, however, you can still join us to enjoy the atmosphere and shopping on Friday...without wine, appetizer, or dessert tastes.
Come mingle with old friends in Monticello this holiday season! There’s no better way to kick things off than with Reds of Christmas, a shop-walk with wine, appetizer, and dessert tastes along the way in our historic downtown. Ticketed guests will receive a commemorative tasting glass at check-in to use for red wine sampling while their shopping.

Congratulations to Willow Tree Missions for their work at 100 E. Washington Monticello Main Street! They removed a previous business sign and installed their own giving a taste of things to come with this facade earning them the 2024 Historic Preservation Award Recipient for Façade Improvement- Signage!!

If you haven't already noticed, this property has had a facelift! They replaced windows, repaired masonry, removed overgrown vegetation, then replaced it with new landscaping!

We were so lucky to go through Main Street America’s Transformation Strategy process over the last few weeks!! It started with providing them with much of the work that has already been done in our community. Next, many of you helped us with a survey. Last week we learned about the survey results, reviewed information from various data sets in relation to our downtown, listened to several stakeholder’s thoughts and ideas, and learned about some potential strategies we are considering for implementation over the next few years. Our board will soon go over these strategies in more depth with the intent to make a decision next month!
We want to thank everyone that took time to complete our survey, the information was priceless! We were lucky to have community members, business owners, building owners and City of Monticello, representatives that took time out of their day to discuss ways to elevate our downtown. Last, but not at all least, we must thank our awesome facilitators from Main Street America and Illinois Main Street!
